Welcome to our neighbourhood: the Saanich Peninsula, Vancouver Island where the city of Victoria is located.
We think our Saanich Peninsula bed and breakfast is perfectly situated for a visit to Victoria, being just 20 minutes from downtown and from the airport and all ferries yet in a lovely, quiet country setting. We are away from Victoria's noise and bustle (a population of 350,000) yet conveniently near all Victoria attractions. Here there is tranquillity among the hills and lakes, fruit and hobby farms. Again and again our guests first words are ‘What a lovely spot!’.

The Saanich Peninsula is a neck of land on the south east coast of Vancouver Island, measuring about 30km (19 miles) from north to south. At the northern end lies Swartz Bay, the terminal for BC Ferries. Just south of this is the pleasant town of Sidney. South of this are the gentle rolling pastoral scenes typical of the peninsula until you pass Elk Lake to reach the suburbs of Victoria at the southern end. Gazebo Bed and Breakfast is right in the centre!

Driving tours or Victoria cycling tours easily encompass hills and valleys, lakes and beaches, wineries and fruit stands, gardens and farms, golf courses and trails, from Victoria to Sidney. We have maps and local concierge information available for our guests.

The Butchart Gardens is just a few minutes from us, as is Butterfly Gardens, The Centre of the Universe, Saanich Commonwealth Place and Matticks Farm.

Finally, here's a view of our immediate neighbourhood taken from near the top of one of our fir trees. We could call it "A Room with a View" but this might offend the occupant of any birds nest there! To obtain a similar view you should drive up the hill immediately behind us which houses the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory / Centre of the Universe.
